Building up to Employee Ownership Day

Amazingly, 28 June 2019 will be the seventh Employee Ownership Day – the first was celebrated on 4 July 2013.

Employee ownership has really come on in leaps and bounds in recent years. It’s estimated that there are now around 350 employee owned businesses in the UK, with over 60% of the growth in that sector in the years since 2014 when the Employee Ownership Trust was introduced.

How could you celebrate Employee Ownership Day?

• Put your feet up and enjoy Chicken Run (Aardman Animations, employee owned since November 2018)
• Make a cup of tea, put a record on … your stereo was purchased of course from experts at Richer Sounds, employee owned May 2019
• Add a toasted teacake topped with a delicious jam or jelly of your choice lovingly produced by employee owned Tiptree Jams (employee owned since 1985)
• Your delicious, organic, vegetarian dinner is straight out of a veg box from Riverford Organics (employee owned since June 2018)

We’re excited to be employee owned ourselves, and to be part of this growing sector. Roll on 28 June!
