Hang in there Gromit – it’s all under (employee) control

Fantastic news that Aardman Animations, creators of Wallace & Gromit, have made the jump to employee ownership by way of an Employee Ownership Trust (“EOT“) . Many congratulations to all involved!

For many years, John Lewis Partnership has been the go-to name when you need to explain why employee ownership can be such a great proposition. As EOTs increase in popularity, it looks like there are going to be more and more household names and successful businesses – in a variety of sectors – flying the flag for this business model. This year, we’ve already seen Riverford Organics (organic veg boxes) and Harvey Map Services (well, maps) sell to an EOT.

There will be more to come.
Since the introduction of the EOT, estimates suggest that over 250 companies have made the transition to employee ownership by selling to an EOT.

We offer a free consultation on setting up employee ownership arrangements in companies, including setting up EOTs. Our particular focus is larger companies generating profit of more than £500,000.
