Robin’s background is as a corporate and tax solicitor. Over the past decade he has advised a huge range of clients on motivating their employees – from freshly minted start-ups to leading global banks and tech companies.
Robin has a unique insight into employee share schemes, not only from his experience in corporate law but also from founding FinTech and LawTech startups. He understands the highs and lows of being a business owner and the challenges of recruiting, motivating and managing team members whose work is crucial for the success of the business.
Robin’s preferred approach is to get to know a company – to understand its strategy, ambitions and challenges, and to follow that understanding through to the design and structure of employee incentives. He is an advocate for keeping things as simple as possible, and focusing on financial modelling, valuation, stakeholder consultation and good communication as a means of maximising the impact of an employee share scheme.
Nevertheless, Robin recognises that complexity is unavoidable is some situations, and has the pragmatism and depth and breadth of experience and technical knowledge to advise confidently in all contexts.
